Small Beginnings

The story begins with our protagonist - a frustrated tabletop wargamer.

He had collected components of several toy armies, but never quite finished painting them.
He had a regular opponent, but neither were quite finding the time to play enough games.
Perhaps worse, he had been purchasing wargames rules for over a quarter of a century, and never quite found a set he liked.

He knew he was in a rut, and had been attempting to escape it for over a decade.
Every new project started in hope; new toys were ordered, painting began, and then the process stalled.
Sometimes the rules that promised so much produced a joyless game, more often the sheer drudge of painting halted proceedings.

I hope to continue the story with an account of my road to salvation (You may have guessed already ... I am that protagonist).
I have embarked on "one last project", which I hope will yield satisfaction, toy armies to be proud of and an ongoing enjoyable gaming experience.

I aim to produce a diary of the development of the new toy army from purchase to its outings on the tabletop battlefield.
Join me and follow the progress.
Unlike a Hollywood blockbuster, there is no guarantee the mission will end in success.
